Uyen is learning what it means to be a social innovator in education with the belief that education prepares the next generation to create positive change by helping them live to their fullest potential. She is working on a one-year career development program to provide underprivileged young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to succeed in their personal and professional lives.
Uyen has worked as the president of the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam chapter of AIESEC, the world’s largest youth-run organisation. There she was able to increase growth by 65% and revenue by 50%.
She loves the concept of how Global Citizen Year describes their “”bridge year”” programs: “You aren’t falling in to a ‘gap’; instead you are crossing the bridge that will launch you from one life stage to the next”. She has decided to extend her bridge year in order to work abroad in social enterprises and to study further to take these learning points back to impact Vietnam.
